The Story of the Two Frogs

red-eye frog

There’s an old story about two frogs that goes like this:

Once upon a time, there were two frogs who accidentally fell into a vat of cream.

They both tried to escape by swimming to the sides of the vat and climbing out. But the walls of the vat were too steep and slippery and they kept sliding down.

One frog, seeing no obvious way out, eventually gave up and drowned.

The other frog didn’t want to give up. He was determined to escape and kept trying.

After some time, his constant paddling began to churn the cream into butter.

Eventually, the cream became so firm that he was able to walk to a side of the vat climb over!

The Moral of the Story

The story of the two frogs teaches us that we must always stay hopeful and keep trying, no matter how bad things may look and no matter what anyone else is doing.

We may want to change our tactics and adopt new strategies, but we must keep trying, because giving up only guarantees failure!

A Quick Word About Pessimism

It’s worth mentioning that pessimism is the same thing as giving up–mentally.

And once we shut our minds to the possibility of succeeding, failure becomes the only possible outcome.

This becomes especially true if you believe that we create our own reality.
