All around the world, they’re waiting … for change.
People everywhere want a better life for themselves. They want a better world for us all. And so, they continue to wait.
They follow the news; they watch the political debates; and they try to figure out who they’re going to vote for. Only four more years to go. They’re waiting for the next election … to vote for change.
They’re all pinning their hopes on some political messiah – a sharp-suited hero with sparkly white teeth – to deliver them.

But, as Mark Twain said:
“If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.”
A tad harsh? Maybe. A tad cynical? Possibly. But I don’t say it lightly. I don’t think he did, either.
I don’t mean to say that the political process is entirely without merit. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t bother voting at elections.
But I am saying that elections don’t necessarily change things for the better. And I am saying you don’t need to wait four years to vote for change.
Truly Voting for Change
Voting doesn’t only happen at elections. You may not realise, but you do it every moment of every day.
With every thought you think and every act you perform; with every penny you spend; and with the way you choose to bring up your children, you are, in fact, voting for the kind of world we live in.
Now, do you see how powerful you are? Now, do you realise how big a role you play in all of this?
But if you’re thinking the same thoughts and doing the same things, you’re not voting for change.
If you’re supporting the same institutions with your money and loyalty, then you’re not voting for change.
If you’re teaching your children to merely fit in and not to express who they really are, then you are not voting for change.
And if you’re not accepting your responsibility to what you can; if you’re waiting on the powers that be to sort everything out because it’s their job and not yours, then you’re not voting for change.
Now do you see?
True Power

True power lies with the people. Yet sadly, they seem unaware of this.
They are far too ready to give their power away – often to the very people who oppress and deceive them. And this happens time after time, election after election and generation after generation.
True power lies in consciousness, because consciousness creates reality. But again. the vast majority remain ‘unconscious’ of this all important fact.
And so, they continue to tell the stories their grandparents told, thereby (unwittingly) perpetuating the problems and suffering of old.
They continue to believe the same falsehoods and limitations, and to harbour the same fears and prejudices, thereby dooming themselves to more of the same.
And still, they still wonder why things are the way they are!!
The Solution
As with every problem, there is always a solution. And the solution is simple: stop doing what is not working and look for something that does!
Educate yourself. Understand your role in all of this. Understand your power and how you create your reality. Then act, from a place of power, clarity, and wisdom.
You will soon realise, that in order to create a happy, peaceful, loving and fair world, you need to first become these things.
We live in a holographic universe. And here, the part contains the whole. So when you, the part, change, you cause the whole universe to change. This is how powerful you are!!

This is perhaps why the Sufi poet Rumi said,
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
It doesn’t require a large stretch of the imagination to understand that if enough people change, the world too would change as a result – no waiting on Mr. Sparkly Teeth required.
So what are you waiting for? Start voting now! With your lifestyle; your spending power; and most of all, with your consciousness. Let’s create the sort of world we dream of living in! Because together, we can do it!!
